Protecting a precious natural jewel
Saint-Quentin Park is a precious natural jewel of the Mauricie region. As the owner of the island, the city of Trois-Rivières associated itself with several partners to valorize its wetlands, the flora and the fauna of this island at the confluence of the Saint-Lawrence and the Saint-Maurice Rivers.
Overview
The Zoo de Granby biologists have collaborated with this association by carrying out many fauna inventories on the island since 2011. In order to share this knowledge with its users, the zoo participated in the creation of interpretive signs visitors can view throughout the boardwalk.
Vision for the Future
The Zoo de Granby will continue to support the committee concentrating on developing a new vision for the Saint-Quentin Island Park highlighting both the conservation of this natural environment and ecotourism.
